Judge Walz was first appointed as the LaGrange County Circuit Court Judge on August 31st, 2018 and was elected to the position on November 6th, 2018.
Judge Walz graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in 1997 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Psychology. He graduated from the IU McKinney School of Law in 2001 with a Juris Doctorate. He served as a Law Clerk for the Indianapolis Firm Cohen and Malad. After Graduation he served two years as a Deputy Prosecutor in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office before moving back to Lagrange County and Practicing Law in a General Practice. Subsequently, he spent the next 13 years serving as a Deputy Prosecutor in several Counties which included 9 years in Noble County and most recently serving in the LaGrange County Prosecutor’s Office prior to taking the Bench.
Judge Walz is married to CPA Kerri (Van Wagner) Walz and has two teenage daughters, one dog and three cats. He enjoys working on and riding motorcycles, fishing & water sports, and most importantly spending time with his family.
Judge Walz feels privileged to serve the community he lives in and where many of his ancestors homesteaded before the Civil War.
