Opioid overdose is currently the leading cause of death among adults 50 years old and younger in the United States.
The NaloxBox mission is to improve the capacity of bystander rescuers to save the lives of victims of opioid overdose with overdose response tools, including naloxone.
Naloxone is an opioid overdose reversal medication.
If you suspect someone is experiencing an opioid overdose, Narcan should be administered. If the individual does not respond within 2-5 minutes, administer a 2nd dose.
Naloxone can wear off and individuals can overdose again. It is imperative that 911 be called for assistance and that medical attention is sought out as soon as possible.
